“I Have Been Set Free”

I never thought I would see the day,
Where the pain of my past would finally go away.
Nothing to haunt me or bring me down,
I can wear a smile instead of a frown.
I am so happy,
I give God all of the glory.
I know that all of my old wounds will still have scars,
But I’m not longer in a prisoner’s cell behind bars.
I wanted so badly,
To be set free.
I didn’t know how to get there,
I was tired of being in Satan’s lair.
God gave me an opened door,
Where my life could be restored.
The freedom I feel more every day,
Surely has been worth the wait.
For I can finally say, “I have been set free,
And I am free indeed.”

John 8:36 (NASB) So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.
