Words Do Hurt

31 Mar

The tears are falling down her face,
Because the words she can not erase.
The words she hears,
Cause her the tears.
The words are not nice,
They pierce her heart like a knife.
The words seem to stick in her mind,
The words can’t even be erased with time.
She hears them over and over again,
The words will not end.
She wishes the words would just go away,
But the words stay.
Some say words never hurt,
The words make her feel like dirt.
Boyfriends and husbands should be more aware of what is said,
Because the words will always be in her head.

Take Sin Seriously

31 Mar

Deuteronomy 8:5 Know then in your heart that, as a man disciplines his son, the Lord your God disciplines you.

It started August 2012. A real good friend of mine passed away. In January 2013, my grandmother passed away. Two weeks later, my father in law graduated to his heavenly home.

I didn’t realize I was going down a slippery slope. I slowly drew away from God. I felt like God was so far away. I let so many things take my eyes off of God.

I did have a Godly woman telling me to run back to Jesus. God spoke to me through a song; “Burn Bright” by Natalie Grant. I didn’t listen. I took it lightly.

Since I didn’t listen, I paid the consequences. For a time, I fell into sin. Since I wasn’t leaning on God, I fell into the temptations of the world.

I’m reading through 1 & 2 Kings and 1 & 2 Chronicles. The Israelites were the same way. God told them not to marry into other cultures. They did just the opposite. God told them not to worship idols. They didn’t listen to God. It continued generation after generation.

The Israelites didn’t take God seriously. They didn’t think God would discipline them. Later on in the Old Testament, the Israelites spend 400 years a silence; not hearing one word from God.

How many times do we not take sin or God seriously? We take advantage of our relationship with Christ. From time to time, we can forget the cost of our sins. We tend not to realize when we sin, we are crucifying Christ all over again.

Because of blantant sin, God will take you up and throw you down(Psalm 102:10). Take it from someone that knows. You will go through consequences and God’s wrath due to disobedience.

Take sin seriously. Don’t take it lightly. It will cost you. It can cost you more than you think. You can have spiritual, mental, emotional, physical, and even financial consequences. So, think before you blatantly sin.
